Private Educator Nanny Options

A COVID response to Remote and Virtual Learning

A Nanny/Private Educator will help oversee and supplement remote and virtual learning for one or more families, as well as provide basic daily care for the children they oversee.  They will adhere to the established curriculum provided by the local public or private school and help keep the children organized, engaged, and excited to learn.  Care for children under school age should be limited, as the Private Educator’s focus will be on education of the school-aged children.

Families will be able to choose to hire either a Nanny/Private Educator or a Certified Private Educator for their children.

A Nanny/Private Educator must have a high school diploma or the equivalent, and preference is given to candidates with a degree in education or classroom teaching experience.  They will have at least two years of professional childcare experience and meet all of our agency’s Professional Standards.

A Certified Private Educator will have a degree in education and an active teaching certification in the state of Michigan, in addition to meeting all of our agency’s Professional Standards.

Private Educator for One Family

A family can hire a Nanny/Private Educator for their family to oversee the learning of older children as well as provide daily care for younger children in the home.  This is the best option for a family looking for personalized, flexible full-time care for their children.

  • Must hire Nanny/Private Educator for a minimum of 4 hours per weekday
  • Must guarantee a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • $18-25 per hour depending on number of children and the qualifications of the Nanny/Private Educator
  • 4 Week, Trimester/Semester, and School-Year Placements available

Private Educator Pods

Two to three families (with up to 6 children combined) can share a Private Educator!  One family will host the Private Educator and all the children in their home each school day, and the Private Educator will oversee their learning as well as supplement education with one-on-one tutoring as needed.  Because of how hands-on and engaged we expect the Private Educator to be, they should not be providing daily care for any children in the home who are not participating in remote or virtual learning.

  • Must hire Private Educator for a minimum of 4 hours per weekday
  • Each family must guarantee a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Each family must employ Private Educator separately; rate per family will be $10-15 per hour depending on number of children
  • Maximum of three families and 6 children per Educator Pod
  • One Michigan Nanny Agency Client; One Placement Fee that can be split between families
  • 4 Week, Trimester/Semester, and School-Year Placements available

4 Week Placement

We face a lot of unknowns with this upcoming school year, and some families just need short-term support!  Whether your school is only doing virtual learning for a month or two, or in the event schools close again, hiring a Private Educator for 4 weeks at a time might be the perfect solution for your family or your Educator Pod!

Each 4 Week Placement is $750.00 total
Can be split between Pod families

Trimester/Semester Placement

Many schools are only offering remote or virtual learning for the fall Trimester/Semester, and we have those families covered!  You and your Educator Pod can hire a Private Educator for just the fall, then reevaluate your needs when winter comes!

Each Trimester/Semester Placement is $2000.00 total
Can be split between Pod families

School Year Placement

If you plan to keep your children at home for the school year, or anticipate still needing consistent care if and when schools move to a hybrid at-home/in-person model of education, you can hire one Private Educator to commit to your family and/or your Educator Pod for the entire 2020/2021 school year!

Each School-Year Placement is $3000.00 total
Can be split between Pod families
